Rough cut of my music video

Digipak draft

This is the first initial ideas that I had for my digital. I put all of the ideas on a rough draft to get an idea of placements and what it'll look like for my final ideas. I wanted it to give me a brief impression of what it'll look like once I have eventually placed all my final images and texts.

Raw footage

This is the raw footage of some of the footage I recorded from various days of recording. I had a lot of different shots and angles which are all without the editing stages and where they are exactly how I had shot it. I was happy with the recordings that I had selected as there was variation and shows how much I can work with different locations and how they are going to make my video more successful.

Audience feedback part two

I showed my work to my class, and from this I could get feedback. I managed to get a lot if information from this audience feedback as I was able to easily interact with my class and teacher. It was direct as well so I could take note of everything that they truely felt. Giving my class a viewing of my first draft gave me the opportunity to gain feedback which was highly constructive and was also from my demographic audience, giving me the chance to improve.

Audience feedback

From my video of my audience feedback, I have gathered the results and averaged it out to see the areas of which I am most successful In my video. I felt it was Important to do so asi was then able to recognise my weaker areas and how I could improve. In this case, I was weaker in editing my video. From then on I ensured my timings were correct of when I cut my video for example. This feedback definitely helped me with improving my work.

Project log - 16th January 2014

Today in class we presented to the class our music videos - first draft. After I had presented my work, we got feedback on each of the good and bad points which my teacher and peers thought of my work. One of the main critics I received from my teacher was that I had too many shots of Sophia singing at the window, and none of her actually recording the song or looking into the camera. I have taken this on board, and have gone away and made a plan of how I am going to edit this and adapt new parts to my video. I am going to film in the recording studio at many different angles so that I can choose which one I want to use and I can cut my video easily. Another room I will use is the drama room, it is blacked out, so I am going to use the lighting to make it brighter but only on Sophia. In these shots I want to mainly focus on the front view of Sophia, however at some points I will have her singing in there as well. I am going to incorporate this into my music video already created, and just replace some of the window shots. Once I have done this, I am going to re export my video and post it again as a second draft, then get further feedback.

Album advert second draft

This is the second draft of my album advert. I have made some changes to the image since getting feedback from my teacher. The feedback that I got was that when looking at the image, she was most drawn to the background of the picture straight away instead of my singer. As a result of getting this feedback, I have changed the size and angle of the image, it cuts out the guitar, but it is an extreme close up which is an intimate aspect for the audience. I plan on making more changes to my album advert when I have my final feedback from my teacher.

Album advert draft

This is the exported version of my album advert. I wanted it to be the main focus on Sophia, and so I used one of the images I took whilst filming as the main image on my advert. I have used this image because the guitar is constantly shown with Sophia throughout the music video, on all the parts where she is singing. It conotes the bond she has with music and how the guitar is a part of her music.
